Costs, insurance & second opinions

We provide written estimates after diagnostics and before surgery. Most orthopaedic procedures are insurance-claimable (policy-dependent). We’re also happy to provide second opinions and review imaging from other practices.

Self-funding? We’ll outline staged options and pragmatic pain-management plans.

Referrals & collaborative care

We accept referrals for surgical work-ups, imaging and procedures. Full reports and post-op plans are promptly shared with your primary vet.

Orthopaedics & Advanced Surgery FAQs

How do you choose between TPLO, TTA or other techniques?

We assess tibial plateau angle, conformation, activity, meniscal status and concurrent disease to select the best option.

Will my pet be painful after surgery?

We use multimodal pain relief (opioids, NSAIDs, nerve blocks, adjuncts). Most pets are comfortable and weight-bear sooner than expected.

How long is recovery?

Varies by procedure: TPLO typically 6–8 weeks restricted exercise; fractures 6–10+ weeks depending on healing. We review at key milestones.

Do you offer advanced imaging on site?

Yes — digital X-ray and on-site CT. MRI is arranged with partners, reported by specialists.

What if complications occur?

Complications are rare but possible. We monitor closely, escalate imaging or revision if needed, and act promptly.

Emergency cover after surgery?

Yes — our out-of-hours pathway ensures a vet is on site 24/7 via our partner hospital. See our Emergency Care page.
